About Lemonpuss
I am living the dream and staying home to raise my three kids while my wife and I try to renovate our 150 year old farmhouse and keep the grapevines from consuming the house. We are a free-range family, and I spend my days with the kids crafting, gardening, canning fruit, and keeping the peace. Some days I'm lucky enough to fit in a little knitting. Monster
Red flannel, polka dot fabric, and a couple of worn-through knees. I can’t wait to surprise my beloved boy tomorrow morning with his new fab jeans. Mornings are hard for him lately, and transitions are worse. This will hopefully bring … Continue reading

Thirty Minutes
A big bowl of soapy water, cups, corks, bottle brushes, and some pompons and I’ve JUST got enough time to pop off and paint a sink base. It will be a surprise for Margie, but for me as well since … Continue reading

Just Another Sunday
It is almost midnight and I am just getting to bed. It was a banner day, though. There was a lot of playing with trucks in Grif’s room this morning, and he almost came to blows with the baby when … Continue reading

Where is Samantha Stevens When I Need Her?
Sitting on the couch under a sleeping baby (fully aware of my blessings) gazing at the pile of walnut limbs drying in front of the stove and wishing they would magically cut, sand and oil themselves into fab unit block-lengthed … Continue reading

Freeze Frame – Sunday Afternoon
I am listening to this: http://tinyurl.com/JammingwithAl and enjoying the best cheap Spanish red out there right now, Monte Ducay 2007. (What, your canning kit didn’t come with this? You were shafted, my friend.) I am smelling citronella bug repellent, baby … Continue reading

A House Afire
I have been more productive than anticipated in the past few weeks. Much of it is the barely-visible purging and thinning one carload at a time sort; the house looks vaguely tidier but you can’t tell quite why. However, the … Continue reading
Fashion Plates!
My sister had a Fashion Plates toy in the 1970s that I coveted. I would sneak into her room regularly when she was at cheerleader practice to play with it. It is an art toy that lets you select outlines … Continue reading

Momentary Lapse
I’m supposed to be resting; standard c-section recovery warnings are to immobilize yourself for two weeks with no baths or driving, then another four weeks of no lifting anything heavier than the new baby and gently increasing activity as you … Continue reading
